Vanessa Sturgeon
Vanessa Sturgeon has spent her twenty year career working in commercial real estate, developing and managing approximately 7 million square feet of industrial, residential, retail shopping centers and mixed use high rise assets. Her contributions to Portland’s skyline are as abundant as her love for the city of Portland, where she was born and raised.
Sturgeon’s passion for serving her community is evident her involvement. She serves as the Board Chair for New Avenues for Youth, Chair Emeritus of the Porltand Business Alliance, R & H Construction, the Knight Cancer Council and NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development. Her community awards include the Portland Monthly Magazine “Women Who Move the City,” Portland Business Alliance A Place with No Ceiling Award, Daily Journal of Commerce Newsmakers of the Year and Women of Vision Awards, the Portland Business Journal Women of Influence Orchid and 40 under 40 Awards.
Vanessa earned her Bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University. She has her MBA from Atkinson Graduate School of Management (Willamette University).
Nick Fritel
Nick Fritel co-founded Sturgeon Development Partners in 2015. Nick began his career at HFF where he closed more than 50 transactions totaling over $1 billion in capital outlay. He also acts as CFO for TMT Development, Co., which manages a large Portland based real estate portfolio totaling over 6.5M square feet of commercial space in the NW.
Nick’s hobbies include golf, spending time with his family, especially his two darling nieces, and football.
He serves the Portland community as the board Treasurer for Downtown Portland Clean and Safe. Additionally, he is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), where he acted as ULI Portland Finance Chair.
Nick holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Montana State University and an MBA from Cornell University. He earned his CFA® charter in 2010 and served on the CFA Society of Portland’s board of directors for 8 years, during which time he led the organization as it’s President.
